# M2H > M2H is the game studio of Mike Hergaarden in the Netherlands, founded in 2009 and run by him alone since 2023. He has been making multiplayer games since 2004, for most of those years with his brother Matt and a small team: more than twenty titles, from browser games and mobile hits to the cross-platform stunt racer Crash Drive 3 and the party game Marooners. M2H also co-created the WW1 Game Series (Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo), which sold over two million copies before M2H sold its majority share to Focus Entertainment in 2022. BlackMill Games develops the series now; M2H holds no stake. ## Key pages - [Story](https://www.m2h.nl/story/): the full history 2004 to now, by Mike Hergaarden - [Games](https://www.m2h.nl/games/): Crash Drive 3, Crash Drive 2 and Marooners (owned and online); Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo (co-created, majority share sold in 2022) - [Crash Drive 3](https://www.m2h.nl/games/crash-drive-3/): stunt driving with cross-play on twelve platforms, released 8 July 2021 - [Writing](https://www.m2h.nl/writing/): long-form articles on the technical side of making games - [Shipping to twelve platforms on one day](https://www.m2h.nl/writing/shipping-to-nine-platforms-on-one-day/): how Crash Drive 3 launched everywhere at once, and what each platform was worth - [The backend that runs every game we make](https://www.m2h.nl/writing/the-toolkit-behind-ten-years-of-games/): the GDT, M2H's own game backend and Unity platform layer, in use since 2016 on seven games and eleven platforms - [Now](https://www.m2h.nl/now/): what is being built, updated monthly - [Press](https://www.m2h.nl/press/): facts, boilerplate, logos, box art, screenshots - [Contact](https://www.m2h.nl/contact/): press@m2h.nl for press, the M2H Discord for players ## Facts - Legal name M2H B.V., Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 66055210, the Netherlands - Founder: Mike Hergaarden, co-creator of Photon Unity Networking (2011) with Exit Games - The GDT (Game Development Toolkit) is M2H's own backend and Unity platform layer, built by Mike Hergaarden alone, running on Google App Engine and Firestore for 10 to 100 euros a month; BlackMill Games also uses it for the WW1 Game Series - Verdun was the first Dutch game approved through Steam Greenlight (June 2013) and is part of the Dutch Gamescanon
